South Yorkshire Times, December 7th 1957

AT the age of 19, Pat Greaves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Greaves, of Rotherham Road, Middlecliffe, Little Houghton, has got her chance to appear in cabaret at the Coconut Grove, in the West End.

Pat went up to London last week to have an audition with Edmundo Ros. Eighty girls were auditioned, but only two, of whom Pat was one, were successful. Miss Greaves recently finished her summer season at Illfracombe, North Devon, and last winter played in the pantomime “Cinderella” at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr.

She has also appeared on the Central Pier at Blackpool, in the Hylda Baker show. At London’s famous Windmill Theatre, she took part in a special balancing act, in which she appeared on television.

Her new contract is to run for a year.

A dark vivacious brunette, Pat learned some of her dancing steps when she was a pupil at Foulstone County School, Darfield. She was then an outstanding dancer in the folk dancing class, and many predicted a big dancing future for her.
