Children Sports at Great Houghton
On Wednesday children sports took place under the auspices of the Great Houghton WMC and well over 600 youngsters were afterwards provided with tea at the expense of the club.
The field adjoining the Sandhill recreation ground was kindly lent by Mr William Clarkson.
The general enjoyment was greatly enhanced by a short musical programme supplied by the W.M.C. Glee club and orchestra.
The event was organised and carried through in a very capable manner by members of the Committee. Messrs R Judson, William Francis, JW Dickens and Henry Potts officiated as judges, and Messrs J Turner W Fawcett as starters. The waltzing contest was judged by Mr J Wilkes and WH Hall.
