Clever Young Pianist

Sonia Ann Lukins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Fletcher, of 127, Pleasant Avenue Great Houghton, has gained the A.L.C.M. at the recent examinations of the London College of Music, at the age of fifteen.

Sonia, who has taken great interest in pianoforte, playing since she was seven, has won about six music certificates. In the recent examination the adjudicator remarked on her beautiful playing, awarding her 95 marks out of a possible hundred.

Sonia attended Houghton Council School until last year. She hopes one day to play in a band at some seaside resort. She has often assisted at concerts and played marches at school when school entertainments have been held.
