Coronation Queen
Violetta Cade, the 10-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Cade, Middleton, Little Houghton, has by the popular vote of all Little Houghton children, whose ages range from 10 to 14, been chosen coronation Queen of the festivities.
Violetta, who attends Great Houghton Council School, is a pretty child, and will wary satin and crêpe de Chine down, which Mrs a Francis of Little Houghton, is kindly having made for her, and will head the procession from the colliery, accompanied by a retinue of four maids of honour: Kathleen Harris, Connie Moss, Marjorie Adams and Dorothy Sykes.
At the Jubilee celebrations at Little Houghton two years ago, Violetta won a second prize as Miss Italy.
