Costly Experience
At the Doncaster West Riding police Court on Tuesday, Frederick Smith, Showman, Houghton, was fined 20/-and 5/6 costs for driving horses without a proper light at Bolton on Dearne.
PC Hodges, will prove the case, said the defendant was in a trap driving the ponies in front loose. They were all over the road and were a danger to the travelling public.
Defendant pleaded ignorance of the order, and the chairman (Mr J Brocklesby) told the defendant that in view of his record is knowledge of the law should be remarkable; he had about 40 convictions against him.
