Against Houghton, Grimethorpe were dismissed for 49 A T Mitchell (12) and B. Carr (10 not out) being the top scorers. The Grimethorpe “tail” was in the middle, for though 30 wen on the board before the third wicket fell, the seventh man retired at 34.
Houghton hit off the 60 runs required with three wickets spans, A. Watson playing an invaluable inningsof 21, while Ramsbottom chipped in with 13 not out.
