Afternoon Shift Men Cease Work

The afternoon shift at the Houghton Main Colliery did not go down yesterday owing to some dissatisfaction over pay. The men received their pay notes yesterday, and though no details were available last night it is understood that something in the pay-notes was the cause of the dissatisfaction.

There is a possibility of the trouble spreadĀing to all the men employed at the colliery.
