About 300 spectators attended the Barnsley Queens Ground on Monday afternoon, on the occasion of a long knock knur and spell match for £50.
The players were Jay Beckford, Darfield, and J Hartley, Great Houghton, who agreed to strike 20 rises with half ounce pot knurs, Hartley receiving 10 yard start.
Bedford won by nearly 30 yards, his best effort measuring about 10 score.
