Mother’s Hope For Son

ln confirmation of a telegram sent last week to Mr. and Mrs. James Stoyles, of John Street, Great Houghton, stating that their son,John James Stoyles, a First Class Stoker, had been reported missing, came a letter on Monday which informed them that their son, a First Class Stoker, had been reported missing, presumed killed on May 14 h while on war service.

Despite the message Mrs. Stoyles feels confident that her son is still alive. He the eldest of a family of eight sons and four daughters. He was called up at the outbreak of war. In February he came home on leave.
