A Houghton “Gas” Victim
Private George Cooper
Great Houghton
We reproduce a photo of Private George Cooper, who, having joined the Territorials five years ago, was called upon the outbreak of hostilities and went to France on April 13, 1915.
After serving one of the hottest part of the line, near Ypres, Fremont, he was gassed while helping to repulse a severe gas attack on 19 December.
He has been treated for this for four months in hospital, and is now on 10 days leave prior to re joining his regiment.
We heartily wish him good luck.
