Councillor Off To War

Coun. John Hill, one of Darfield’s youngest councillors, is somewhere abroad. He was a reservist and was called up early in the war.

Before leaving England he was stationed in Somerset.

Mr. Hill took active interest not only in local government but in the social life of the village. He was elected President of the Y.M.A. at. Houghton Main but owing to being called up, was unable to fill the post. His wife who lives in College Terrace, receives letters from him regularly, and he says he has some splendid pals out there and appears bright and cheerful.
