Private J Welford

Mr and Mrs J Welford of Little Houghton have heard that their third son, Private John Welford of the York and Lancaster has been wounded in the leg and is in hospital in France.

Private Welford joined forces soon after the outbreak of war and are seen service in Egypt and France. Previous to enlistment he worked at the Dearne Valley Colliery.
