Watch Robbery at Darfield
William Butler, miner, of Great Houghton, was charged with having stolen a watch, value £3. 10s., from Thos. Heppenstall, miner, Darfield, on the 5th inst.
Prosecutor stated that he left the Station lnn, Millhouses, about 20 minutes before closing time on the night in question, and when he was crossing the field at Darfield Bridge he was knocked down by the prisoner, who after assaulting him took his watch.
Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was sent to gaol for one month.
