Wedding – Durnley & Jarvis.
On Monday at Darfield Parish Church, the Rev. R. C. Tippetts officiating, Miss Muriel Jarvis, youngest daughter of Mr. W. Jarvis and the late Mrs. Jarvis, Great Houghton, was married to Mr. A. Burnley, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Burnley. Barnsley Road, Darfield.
Given away by her brother, Mr. T. Jarvis, the bride wore hyacinth blue satin and blue shoes, and carried lilies and crimson tulips. There was a retinue of bridesmaids. The two small ones. Joyce Jarvis and Grace Harrison. wore pink satin with frilled skirts and crowns of orange blossom buds. The older attendants were Misses Burnley and B. Linney, in pale pink satin and E. Bladen and J. Jarvis in shell pink georgette and lace coatees. All wore floral head-dresses and carried daffodils.
Messrs. J. Godfrey and W. Burnley were best man and groomsman.
A reception was held in the Welfare Hall, Great Houghton, and 80 guests were entertained
