A Prophecy Fulfilled

Mr William Wardle (75), miner, of 3. Middlecliffe Lane, Little Houghton, had always said that when he died, he would go like shot out of a gun.”

Yesterday he left the house to make a purchase. Returning, he collapsed against the garden wall and died within a few minutes. He had never had an illness in his life.

Mr. Wardle was born at Darfield, and had worked at Houghton Main Colliery for 52 years without a break up to last week-end.
