Houghton Flight Rigger

Flight Rigger George Bates (19), son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bates, of Brampton Terrace, Great Houghton, left Cortonwood Colliery a year ago to join the R.A.F., and signed on for six years.

He is stationed in England and likes the life and finds the food very good. He spends most of his time rigging up machines.

He is tremendously interested in flying.
