Fatality at Houghton Main
A sad fatality happened at the Houghton Main Colliery, yesterday, when Peter Smith, miner, of Snape Hill Darfield was killed at the coalface.
Deceased following his employment when a “bump” took place, and knocking out a prop, a fall of roof occurred, Smith being killed on the spot and buried in the debris.
