Football at Great Houghton.

On Saturday Great Houghton United were away to Smithies in the Junior Division of the Barnsley Association, and captured both points, the result being 2-1. Perry and Pepper scored. The return match takes today.

Great Houghton Wesleyan suffered a check on Saturday, when they played hosts to Wombwell Prims. A well contested game resulted in a draw, 2-2. Joe Briscoe and Wigley snored for Houghton.

Houghton St. Michael’s were let down by transport difficulties on Saturday and had to wire to Birdwell of a motor breakdown at the last moment.

St. Michael’s Reserve were at borne to Carlton St. John’s in the Barnsley Sunday School League, suffering a defeat of 2-1. Horace Brooker scored the Houghton goal.
