Mexborough & Swinton Times – Friday 23 June 1939

Great Houghton School Outing.

Accompanied by Mr. E. Bamford, headmaster, and his staff, together with the Rev. J. R. Hassett, a party of about 30 scholars and teachers had their annual outing on Saturday.

They went by train to London, arriving in fine weather. They visited the sights and then went on to the Zoo, and had a trip in the Tube.

The children were very interested in the automatic doors.

They reached home about midnight.
