Housing
It is pleasing to note the interest that is being taken in their gardens by many of the residents on the new housing estate, and how quickly in some cases, commendable results have been obtained. It is to be hoped that this success will prove an incentive to all.
The properties appear to be well built, most beautifully situated, and the Council done their part well in making fine streets in parts. But an unkempt garden is always a blot.
I wonder what powers the Council house, as landlord, to induce a spirit of emulation by offering a view prizes for the best kept gardens on each of their estates.
If none, they are worth acquiring as the improvement of property will more than counterbalance the relatively small cost.
