There were no fatal accidents in June in the area covered by the “South Yorkshire Times” series of newspapers, but five people were seriously injured.

When Mr. J. A. Hall, Yorkshire miners’ present warned the N.C.B. against attacks on miners’ wages and allowances at Barnsley on Monday, he suggested that managements and men be paid on the amount of coal raised at a colliery.

A £12-a-week miner, who was stated to have told police he averaged 14 to 15 pints of beer a night, was fined a total of £30 at Rotherham on Monday, with £3 16s. costs. He was also disqualified from driving for three years.

Swinton and Kilnhurst Local Labour Party have forwarded the name of County Coun. M. Creighton and Mrs. W. Lawrence to Dearne Valley Divisional Labour Party to be included in the list of nominations for service on the panel of magistrates.
