Mr, and Mrs. James Ashwood,  Billingley, have been notified that their son Pte. John Ashwood, has died of wounds received in action on Sept. 30.

He enlisted in May and went to the Front on his 20th birthday, Sept.-12. Prior to enlistment he was employed at Houghton May, and was also a teacher at the Wesleyan Sunday School.
