 At Goldthorpe Parish Church on Saturday, Mr. Ernest Bladen, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Bladen, 9, Claycliff Terrace, Goldthorpe, was married to Miss Doris Baker, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Baker, 37, Rotherham Road, Great Houghton, the Rev. H. Howard officiating.

The bride wore white crepe suede And carried Arum lilies and maidenhair fern.

Three bride smaids were in attendance, Miss Winnie Busby, wearing blue crepe suede and coatee of black velvet; and Miss Ethel Blagden in figured material, Julian cap and white lace; and Miss Connie Bladen in lemon voile. A little maid. Chrissie Waller, also wore lemon voile.

The bride was given away by her father, Mr Joe Baker and Messrs. Cyril Baker and Walter Bladen were best man and groomsman respectively.

A reception in the Welfare Ball was attended by over 130 guests. The vice, president of the Houghton Wesleyan football club presented to the couple a clock from the club and hoped the team would continue to have the services of their captain, and the support of Mrs. Bladen.
