Staff Sergt L. Nicholson (Great Houghton) and Miss E. Bladen (Great Houghton).

Staff Sergeant Lewis Nicholson son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Nicholson, of School Street,Great Houghton, home on leave from West Africa was married at Great Houghton, Methodist Chapel on Saturday, to Miss Ethel Bladen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bladen, of 37, Rotherham Road. Great Houghton.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of brocaded satin, the skirt of which fell in a train. Her embroidered net veil was surmounted with orange blossom, and she carried crimson roses.

Attending her were Miss Connie Bladen and Miss Eileen Hepworth.

Mr. Arthur Bladen was best man, and Mr. Walter Bladen groomsman. The honeymoon is being spent at Grange-over-Sands, the bride travelling in a tweed costume flecked with blue, blue hat, shoes, and bag, the latter a gift from the bridegroom.
