Mr H. R. Andrews (Great Houghton) and Miss J. Camps (Goldthorpe)

Mr. Harry Raymond Andrews, son of Mrs and the late Mr. T. Andrews, of 34, Pleasant Avenue, Great Houghton, and Miss Jessie Camps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Camps, of 37, Frederick Street, Goldthorpe, was married on Saturday, at Goldthorpe Parish Church.

Given away by her father the bride was attired in a gown of white silk georgette and an embroidered veil of white silk lace held by a wreath of white camellias. She carried red carnations.

Attending the bride was Miss Hazel Andrews, wearing a gown of white figured late trimmed with scarlet velvet, silver shoes, and a silver Juliet cap with a short veil. Miss Andrews carried a posy of red carnations.

The best man was Mr. Daniel Barr, of Newmarket, and Mr. George Camps, of High Green, was groomsman.

The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a silver and enamel identity bracelet. The couple left later for a honeymoon in Scotland, the bride wearing a brown tweed costume with accessories to tone.

Miss Camps was on the staff of Thurnscoe Infants School, and the bridegroom, who is now serving in the Army, was formerly on the staff of the Queen Victoria School, Dunblane, Scotland.

Both bride and bridegroom are old students of Wath Grammar School.
