At Great Houghton Methodist Chapel on Saturday the marriage took place of Miss Leila Dodd, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dodd, 42, High Street, Great Houghton, and Driver Sydney Leonard, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Leonard, 14 Hilda Terrace, Great Houghton.

The service was choral.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a picturesque gown of ivory lace, the billowy skirt being ornamented with bows of satin. Her net veil was surmounted by a cluster of white gardenias, and she carried pink roses and white carnations, and wore a gold cross and chain, the gift of the bridegroom.

She was attended by eight bridesmaids. The elder maids were Misses Eunice Leonard, Joyce Mill, Pamela Lee and Irene Ashworth, who wore white spotted net gowns trimmed with pink rosebuds. and net picture hats, and carried pink roses.

Gifts from the bridegroom were diamante hair-bands.

The junior maids, Lorna Dodd. Hazel Ashworth, Patricia Wilson and Leila Howell, wore white spotted net picture gowns trimmed with pink rosebuds, and big net bonnets. They carried silver baskets of sweet peas and wore gold bracelets, gifts of the bridegroom.

Mr. Herbert Wilson, of Grimethorpe was best man, and Mr. William Hines was groomsman.
