Wedding – Kilner & Guest

Miss Lily Guest, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. Albert Guest, Ings Lane. Little Houghton, was married at Darfield Wesleyan Church on Saturday, to Miss. Sidney Connor, son of Mr and Mrs. Herbert Kilner, 80 Blythe St, Wombwell.

The bride’s father is undermanager at Houghton Main.

Bride and bridegroom are members of the Wombwell P.M. choir, and the bride is a contralto well known in local musical circles. The Rev. S. Hankie-Hardy, (Cudworth), officiated before a large congregation. The bride was given away by her father and wore white silk lace draped over shell pink silk, and carried pale pink and white roses.

Her retinue comprised Mrs. Eva Kilner and Miss Iris Guest wearing flowered green crepe metar and fawn shoes; Miss Weinman (Nottingham). and Miss Marie Jarvis (Mansfield) in fawn flowered crepe metar and bronze shoes; all wearing wreaths of bronze leaves and carried bronze chrysanthemums;  and a little maid of honour, Eunice Brown.
