Window Weds Husband’s Brother

Great interest was created in the Great Houghton district on Saturday when a mother and her youngest daughter of a family of six sons and daughters were both married together at Darfield Parish Church.

The Rev. J. R. Hassett officiated and the bridal party consisting of two brides, two bridegrooms, two bridesmaids, all stood together at the altar rails for the double ceremony.

The mother, Mrs. Elsie Williamson, widow of Mr. Fred Williamson, of Turner Street, Great Houghton, married her late husband’s brother, Mr. Joe 1 Williamson of 9, Rotherham Road, Great Houghton, who is a widower with a family of four children.

Given away by Mr. Charles H. Earns she wore , a rust coloured crepe dress and a light grey felt hat with rust trimmings. She also wore an Air Force blue coat and a buttonhole of white chrysanthemums. Mrs. Sarah Ann Parker, of ‘Thurcroft, ‘ was dame-of-honour and wore a grey hat and grey tweed coat with, a button hole of red tulips. Mr. D. Williamson, a son was best man
