Miss Rita Wood, who is serving with the N.A.A.F.I., youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Wood, 2 Byron Street, Great Houghton, was married at Darfield Parish Church on Monday to Lance Corporal Robert Harry Lavrack, son of Mr Mrs William Lavrack, 111 Ings Lane, Bolton.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a dress of rose pink crêpe, with a gold necklace and a ground felt hat and accessories. She carried pink roses. Two bridesmaids were in attendance, Miss Gwendolyn Allen in a floral dress and Miss Phyllis Wood, who wore a mauve dress. Both had hat to tone and carried pink carnations.

Mr Albert Vickers was best man, and Mr Norman Wood groomsmen.

Gifts included a blue bedspread from the N.A.A.F.I. staff to which the bride is attached.
